Position Overview

As a Content Manager, Digital Marketing Operations, you have a love of technology, efficient operations, and using the former to improve the latter. In sum, you’ll work directly with the General Manager to manage the sourcing, processing, testing and QA of content for our clients’ email newsletters and marketing campaigns. You will be responsible for a small team of Associates leading by example, removing impediments, improving skills, measuring accuracy and setting productivity standards along the way. Most importantly, you will proactively think about improving how things are done. This team is currently remote but will move to a hybrid schedule later in 2021.

On a daily basis, your focus is on the hands-on management of the team responsible for the preparation of content for digital marketing campaigns. You will work with the team to create work schedules and operational coverage to ensure that the business is consistently supported. You will review all current processes to develop and execute a plan to standardize and document all processes, along with defining the central repository to house this information. In addition, you will create and execute plans for new hire onboarding, training, and development of existing staff to include a team cross-training program.

Success in this role is based on excellent team management and efficient operations. This position will work with the GM to develop KPIs for the team and identify other measurement protocols and standards on campaign performance.

Responsibilities

  • Manage digital marketing content operations
  • Active management of the team on a daily basis to include short-term and long-term initiatives related to training, documentation, team building, onboarding, cross-training, and skills development
  • Implement productivity and operational efficiency benchmarks for each role on your team by setting and monitoring department KPIs
  • Define and measure quarterly goals for each employee
  • Conduct 1x1s with each employee on your team on a weekly basis and informal discussions on ad-hoc basis each day
  • Daily execution and oversight of various manual and automated operations processes
  • Collaborate with Engineering to automate processes and reporting requirements
  • Identify, resolve, and/or escalate processing errors and faults with your team
  • Monitor and solve problems during off-business hours

Requirements

  • 2+ years of management experience with demonstrated track record of managing people
  • 5+ years of digital marketing operations experience including a focus in email content in a tech-heavy business setting
  • Experience in an entrepreneurial start-up environment
  • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent experience
  • Proficient in Google Sheets, Excel, and/or other reporting tools
  • Proficient in G Suite
  • HTML, CSS, basic SQL is a plus
  • Excellent communication skills, up and down the management chain
  • Superlative time management skills and the ability to adapt to a changing schedule, ability to work outside of business hours
  • Experience in building and measuring KPIs for your team
  • Experience working with offshore teams is a plus
